The "Real" Unemployment Rate

The government is using smoke and mirrors when it comes to reporting the unemployment rate to us. They say it is going down and getting better. That is hogwash! And if you believe it, I have a bridge to sell you. Yes - it is a fact that the unemployment rate is going down, but it is NOT because the economy is getting better and lots of people are getting jobs. The unemployment rate is going down because people are just giving up looking for work and dropping out of the workforce. That is not a good thing! The reason why the unemployment rate is lower now is because the government is NOT counting those people who just gave up looking for work. The real unemployment rate is more than double what you see on the news. You can actually find it if you go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics web site and hunt for it. But the government does not advertise the "real" rate - nor does most of the media report it as well. They don't want you to know the truth. If you don't believe me, go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics web site and see it for yourself!
